ok guys, I have an idle problem. I let the car sit there and it idles fine. When I shift the car from any gear (automatic) it's fine but when I put the car back in either neutral or park the idle starts to jump up and down. When I turned on my lights, the idle stopped and was fine even after i turned off the lights, the idle is fine. But! as when I press the brakes the idle starts to jump again. I'm thinkin it has to do with my brakes maybe the bb? Because right now my brakes are fucked. I'd have to push in the brake pedal more farther for the car to stop. What do you guys think?

try to fix your brakes first. what if you let the car idle fine and then rev it up and let go? what happens?

 

when its idleing fine and i rev it up and let go, the idle stays fine.

 

how much does a shop usually charge when replacing a brake booster? Should I DIY on that or let the shop do it.

 

diy on the bb. on a side note, my auto lebaron does almost the same thing, cept it revs totally on its own to about 2k, then comes down to 1k when i hit the brakes in neutral. if i leave it in drive and hit the brakes i can feel the car trying to take off. its wierd and i've basicly disassembled the entire engine and transmission and nothing has helped.... so get ahold of me if you figure it out
