Need Help Please! Removing Axle from halfshaft...

Default Need Help Please! Removing Axle from halfshaft...

I'm in the process of doing manual swap and cannot seem pull the axle from the halfshaft...please help...thnx

get a mallet and tap on the black cylindrical part in an outboard motion while pulling the axle. requires some patience, but it'll come out.

be careful not to tear the inboard cv boot with the mallet, though.

so do you mean the inboard part of the axle? and how hard should i hammer it (w/ a rubber mallet of course)?...i hope it'll come out...

bang on that **** as hard as you need to, just dont miss and ruin the boot....you could also try to wedge a flathead behind it and weasel it out that way...

yup that in board part of the axle.

hit the metal part of the inboard section (not the rod part) at an angle so that it's pushing the axle outboard. i don't hit it that hard i usually just tap it.

yep. try to use a dead blow hammer (non-metal)

Ok...after trying for an hour...the son of a bit*h finally came off....damn axle is stubborn as hell...but
