Default My Car is F*cked-rain*UPDATED*

I have a 92 Hatch w/ JDM H22. Well on the way home in the downpour and hail something happened. When I stopped at a light, my rpm's would go down. All the way till the car died. I try to start it back up and the car sounds like it does when it don't have gas. My check engine light keeps flashing and the car sounds like **** when i keep throttling to keep the car running. Any tips to what it might be??

PLEASE HELP

thanks,

David

Wet filter? water in your motor. Pull the code and you tell us what is wrong.

Ok, its stopped raining. The car starts and idles better but still can't go past 3000 RPM without sounding like **** and cutting off. Also, the check engine light is still on. Any other ideas. It also sounds like I got an exhaust leak someway after the cat.

sounds like you have a cracked distributor cap. if funds are a lil low or you dont have time rite now to fix it, just carry a can of WD40 with you in the car and if the problem ever occurs or it starts to rain while your out just pull over and take a wire off the dizzy cap and give a quick shot of WD40.....this will displace the water and the car will start so you get home safely. hope this info helps.

When I bought my civic, it had crappy aftermarket plug-wires. When it rained, water would splash up and get down into the spark-plugs. Car sounded like a Subaru at like 3k just like you said. What kind of plug-wires are you using?

And as previously posted... quit messing around and go check your codes.

i would replace everything from cheapest to most expensive, go with plugs, cap, rotor, wires, then maybe if your dizzy is damaged pick a new one up from distributorking.com

Ok, my mechanic came over to look at it. He says my converter is clogged. That is causing the problems so we are gonna unhook it before the converter and see if thats the problem.
