box in a 5th gen lude??
being that the trunk is pretty small, i was wondering wut size of speaker with the box we can put in our trunks, keeping the height of the box in mind. and wut do yall have better sound with, a 12 or 10?? since we have limited cabin space for air to move arond.???
I'd put (2) 10" in the back. I have 2 kicker Solo Barics for my car, and I'm having a box built right now for them, the deminsions you can probably work with
L=28" - 29"
W=13" - 15"
H=13" - 14"
L=28" - 29"
W=13" - 15"
H=13" - 14"
you have about 29-30 inches from the wheel wells to put a box. I have a 29 inch kicker box with a 12 inch solo baric in it and it fits great snug and works awesome.

I installed a single jl10w7, a sub amp, a capacitor, and a 4-channel amp for the rest of my car in the trunk of my 4th gen lude.

The dimensions of that picture are all pretty accurate. If anything, this will serve as a good example of how much space a 1.34 cu. foot box will take up in your trunk.

it is a 10, but because of the way JL set up the surround it has as much surface area as your typical 12. (The surround goes over the mounting screws instead of having them on a flange around the outside). I'm not saying it sounds like a 12, but the w7 is one of those speakers that won't leave you disappointed as long as you power it right and mount it appropriately.
If you have the money, (eBay ~$350, msrp $499) it is one of the best ways to cram a lot of sound into a small space.

Nope, its a 4th gen. The trunks are similar in size, though. Anyway, I designed the box to fit as tightly as I could, so you could do the same for your car.

I paid around $50 for all of the materials to make the box. That was for MDF, wood glue, silicone sealant, sheet-rock screws, and automotive carpet.
I bought the sub and the JL 500/1 amp from a friend, and I paid $400 for both of them together. That was kind of a ridiculous deal, though, and it might be hard to find a similar deal
