i got an 89 si that tha person b4 me put power windows in it n i cant get them to work wit the up n down switch also i have no idea wear to wire it to for power if someone could gimme a diagram or explan that would be mad helpful
they r after market i beleive they were pulled from a 4dr or a intergra im not sure because tha guy i bought tha car from dint know ne thing about it like if he knew wut was on tha car as far a suspension i would have never got it as cheap as i did but i would like some help if u can provide it thanks
Well what kind of switches are on the car? Do they look like factory or do they look like after market stuff? I have JDM power windows on my 90 hatch and i have all the JDM switches and wireing.
i had a 89' dx with electric windows donated from a 91' civic sedan LX probably the same swap. you may need to track down where the relay is and go from there. as far as the swiches looking stock. all they did was cut a hole in the factory door panel. good luck.
power window motors are simply reverse polarity motors. You put 12v+ on pin 1, and a ground on pin 2. they go down.. put 12v+ on pin 2 and ground on pin 1.. they go up
So you need DPDT switches (power window switches) and relays to accomidate them so you aren't putting all that power through the switch.
Read all about it on http://www.the12volt.com
With electrical you have to understand what you're doing, you can't just "follow the directions".
(well you can, but its not smart and you'll prolly light your car on fire LOL fuses are your friend)
Oh and power windows out of another car that came stock, are not aftermarket, aftermarket are those crap PAL power window kits that are supposed to fit every car and just suck my left testie. Good thing you don't have those. Good old 4dr power window regulators are excellent. If you find out the motor is bad, just get a new one at the junkyard for $5
it's great.
