Default help me please!

hi. i have a 95 civic ex coupe. about 2 months ago the car began having trouble. whenever it rains the car will not start up until the rain has stopped and the car has had about half a day of sun to dry out. what would cause my car to only run when its dry out? car has 140k please, im a girl so i worry about being tricked or taken advantage of when i go to the shop. i want all u guys honest opinions before i go to the mechanic and possibly lose money on stuff i dont need. thanks for taking the time to read my post fellas.

I'm not really sure but moisture might be getting into your distributor or one of its components or starter.

I would pop the dizzy cap off and look for moisture. Humidity may have gotten the best of it. If that's the case, get a new cap, they come with a new seal.

Sara, maybe it's just a coincidence with the rain. It could be the temperature that is causing it. When you say it doesn't start up...does it crank when you try to start up? Or you just get a "click" and nothing happens?

You're in MD. I'm sure there are bunch of people on here are from MD. This would be an opportunity to find a guy that loves Honda..and love a girl that loves Honda?

Guys from MD.....please go over and help her out.

I think posting a pic of herself will induce willingness to help her.

I would bet on it being the distributor cap as well. If it has 140k on the clock it's probably ready to be replaced anyways, unless you know it's been done. It's a cheap part, maybe $25-$30 like everyone has said, and takes ~5 minutes to change.
