I adjusted mine on my ZC and it's alot quieter seems to do better in the midrange but now isn't as good in the high end of things. I stopped ragging on my car for awhile so maybe the airfilter is just really dirty or something, I havn't cleaned the K&N for about a year now (25K miles)

Did you buy the special tool from Honda for adjusting it? Or did you use regular wrenches?

i know the special tool from honda is better used on a car with vtec since the oil rail is in the way. on my ls teg and zc civic, a 12mm box wrench and flathead screw driver were all that was needed since the tops of the valves point outward.

after doing one valve adjustment yourself, the tool has paid for itself 2 times over.

hahahahahaha...... you really do get a damn back when doing your valves. all you need for the tools to fix your valves is 12mm open had wrench, flat head screwdiver, and a filler gauge (located at your everyday auto parts store). get the right one. do not get the one for the spark plug. it has like alot of flat peice of metal and it has numbers on it.

snap-on has the tool that you can buy.

the vtec valves have a 10mm locking nut whereas the non-vtec have a 12mm.

...somebody correct me if i am wrong.

All I did was purchased a 10mm box wrench with the 10mm on one side and the 11mm on the other. I heated it up and bent it. Looks like this. From personal experience I would say this is the way to go, and for only $7 its a great deal compared to $40.

Oh ya heres some helpful instruction on how to do the Valve adjustment as well.

The only problem I had was finding the right size filler guages. What is the difference between the spark plug guages and the filler guages? I couldnt find filler guages small engough so I had to buy regular guages. Can someone update me on the difference?

ya thats what I thought cause I have the feeler guages but they do not go small enough. So I bought standard guages, which looked exactly the same and had the mm readings. I just bent the right one to match the angle of the feeler guages. So I'm assuming its correct.
