Default Quietest 4th gen exhuast?

My old Apex-i "fell" off my car...long story. Anyways, I want my next exhuast to be as quiet as possible so I am trying to figure out what exhuast I can buy that will be as silent as possible for my car. Any suggestions? thanks

-Evan

Apex-i World Sport

RS*R Ex-Mag

Tanabe G-Medalion (discontinued)

Those are probably the quiestest...

I had the Tanabe G-Power Medalion and I loved it. So deep and not intrusive. It was on my GS-R though. I am selling that exhaust if you want to go custom piping with that muffler. Remember it is discontinued!

I would have to say the Apex'i WS, and that's coming from a RS*R owner.

i still have the N1 piping....will the WS fit onto that piping?

I'm looking for hardly any sound, a stock-esque sound to it. the WS has that?

I have a Rsr on mine. It's the old school shinny one. For me it's stock quiet i dont hear anything. It's like a OEM muffler. I also have a tanabe g medallion, but it's not on my car. When it was on my friends car it was deep toned/not that loud. Kind of a hollow sound

I have one on my lude, and in my opinion it is not that quiet. But I also have never heard anything except the stock exhaust to compare it to.

thanks guys, i'm probably going to go w/ the Apex unless I can just find someone w/ a stock exhuast lying around. I still have the old Apex piping on it, so i'm assuming a new Apex should just mount up to that?

right now i have a custom job on mine...2.5" piping catback, no resonators, car sound high flow, magnaflow muffler. when i 1st got it on it had a great deep tone. but in the past months its gotten very loud n very raspy n well...I HATE IT! i was thinkin of havin a stock muffler put back on with the rest of the setup stayin the same. any1 have any idea how that would sound? shouldnt make much of a sound at all should it?

I have an Apex-I World Sport II on my 4th Gen and it sounds really good. I had an N1 on it before and t made me want to murder the guy who sold it to me. for me the N1 intermediate pipe and the Muffler flange of the WS line up perfectly...Sames sized piping Same Flanges.

Apexi WS cat back w/ no cat here ... the cat back system has something like a 20" resonator on it and makes the car almost completely silent at idle ...
idle to aprox. 4k rpm nice quiet tone ... mine sounds similar to a stock new 350Z or G35 (in loudness) however after 4k and especially once VTEC is engaged it comes to life and is definately louder. not annoying loud or ricey
ive had the system for about 8 monthes with no problems ive been happy

I have apexi ws w/o cat and mine sounds exactly like that around 3-4k rpm my friends tell me its very quiet and once I hit it all they here is vtec. It kinda sounds deep inside the car. When I had a my high flow cat on it was quiet like I had factory exhaust.

thats exactly wut i want. how does it sound? even with no resonators n a hiflow it will still be quiet right? i fell out of the loud exhaust phase id rather have a quiet exhaust with a nice loud intake

the only other thing im tempted to try out is one of those universal borla mufflers. has any1 heard one of those on a setup like this or similar?

my only question with the ws2, is what are the gain potentials? i mean with further work on my f22b will it restrict it compared to other exhaust setups, or is the ws2 mostly just sound? Even at a pretty stock level (just ebay intake + kn filter) will I notice a difference in performance (butt or actual dyno)?

In the vein of what ef93si is posting (I'm not trying to hijack this thread), I wonder, is there any way to make your exhaust quieter than stock? Like maybe wrapping the pipe or the muffler with some kind of sound insulation? -Dan

sorry bout bring back an older thread, but i just got a similar setup. i got a megan race header, 2.25 carsound high flow cat, 2.25 pipe back to magnaflow muffler, and it sounds disgustingly ricey. nice low idle tone but nasty when i hit the gas. if i get a resonator, will this solve the raspy problem? if so where can i get a good one and how much do they usually go for?

btw car details and upgrades are in my sig. thanks guys.

I've got the Tanabe G-power medallion as well and love the sound, not loud at all, till you cram your foot on the gas above 4k.
