Default Best Suspension.....

I know everyone out there has their own opinions but i was wondering what type of suspension do you feel is best for the ITR. What brand coil over shock combo or shock spring combo is everyone using and how do you like them. All input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

What gain do you hope to achieve from your suspension? For what purpose are you looking to upgrade?

What fault do you find with the stock suspension? What does your mods put you in now?

That depends entirely on what purpose you have for your car. People need different setups to suit different needs. For most people who see mostly road duty, they'd be just fine with off-the-shelf Ground Controls and Koni Yellows. If you're going to drive this car everyday with this suspension, it'd be nice to make sure you can have the suspension serviced if the need arises.

You should get some Ohlins with remote reserviors. Sounds like you need them.

We have always been a Zeal B6 shop..until this saturday. I got a set of the Buddy Club Racing Specs in and installed them on a car. They are fantastic. I was very impressed with the unit itself. This setup will be put to the test in the next 8 months, too, and I expect it will do extremely well. Something to consider. But, I recommend you get used to your R in stock trim, first. There is lots to explore there.

Based upon what you seem to want out of your car I'd say just run the stock suspension. Especially if you run in a stock class for Auto-X or hope to soon like this seasons new D-Stock.

A nice upgrade that will give you a little better handeling and a little lower stance would be some springs, as long as your stock shocks are not shot yet. Some good ITR specific springs are: H&R, Spoon, and Neuspeed. They bolt right in and utilize the stock shocks. They usually lower the car about 3/4 of an inch and give a stiffer ride but, provide better performance than stock.

A full coilover kit or adjustable springs and shocks is really not needed for your purposes. Looks IE: lowered, may be achieved with Ground Control coilover springs and maybe some Koni Yellows.

It's up tp you for what you want. but like some others said the stock suspension is very good. And you DON'T want to DOWNGRADE it for looks only. You have a performance car so keep it performing well.

A good idea would be to hit up those Auto-X's and take notes on how your car handles and what/which attributes you prefer for performance. As well at an X you could find and talk to some suspension Guru's and really discuss what if anything you should do to your car.

Good luck,

A.
