Default for all u who have done 5th gen HID's and projector retrofits...

ok, i just got a set of BMW E46 headlights with HID's and Projectors, and since there is no diagram, i get the idea on how to put in the projectors, but on the HID's there are 3 wires, red, green and black. i am assuming that the red is positive and black is negative, but what is the green? and how did you connect the stock red and black headlight wires, with the HID ones? did u just splice them together? all input is greatly appreciated. thanks

ive searched and found nuthin...

the red, black, and green wires are the wires for your high beam motor, you will need a relay for that, theres a write up for that on HIDplanet.com

As for the regular low beams, you just need to cut the Honda connectors off your car, and connect the honda red and black wires to the two-prong harness on the ballast.

PM me if you need more details

here is what i bought. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...&rd=1 there a total of 6 wires ( two sets of red green and black) coming from the ballast. one set goes to a lil black box u can see in the pic. and from that box, it goes to the bulb. but the other set of the three wires, is there, to connect to the car. from what i can see, there is no two prong harness on the ballast

do u have a link to this write up??

When I hooked up my ballast, I just spliced into my OEM harness...I've had mine hooked up for about 8 months now with no problems at all...Good luck with your retrofit

you can hook it up both ways, with a relay and without a relay

ok, i just made the relay switch, but now, i still have a problem. the small plug coming out of the ballast goes to the high beam solenoid. i kno. it just plugs rite in. so did i:

1) even need to make a relay??
2) also, where the hell do the OEM high beam wires plug in to? i kno where the low beams go, into the plug with two prongs, but the other has 3 prongs, and i dunno what that is ther for. so to me, it doesnt even look like i had to make a relay.. im so confused...

so will it work, if i just plug in my low beams?? - meaning the low beams will work, but the high beams wont??

WTF?
