b16 swap to dx map sensor?
hey guys, I've had my car for about two years now(see bottom of page28 in pics thread), had some minor glitches (O2 sensors, knock sensor and such) with the swap, all taken car of. though now it seems my low to mid range is lacking some power. and I've been reading up on the map sensor problem some people have been having with the dual-point to multi-point swap. and most say to swap one from an Si of any year or a 90-91 teg. but after more searching, the map sensors from all obd0 cars are the same part# and the trottlebody-mounted obd1/2 are a different part# ONLY due to the mounting difference not the functionality. but one difference I did find with the JDM SiR map sensor assembly is the addition of a "pressure regulater cut-off solenoid valve". looks just like the purge cut-off solenoid valve but is hooked up via vacuum lines to the fuel pressure regulater. which is actually found on the 90-91 teg.
my question is: will swapping just the map sensor from a obd0 really afect my rich running problem or is it the pressure regulater cut-off solenoid valve? heres a pic:

okay boys and girls.
since no one seemed to realize that the PR3 and PR0 ecus require the "pressure regulater cut-off solenoid valve"(pin# A10) including me. I went ahead and gave it a shot. found a whole map/purge cut-off/pressure cut-off assembly off an 91 teg for $35 at my local yard. first hooked up the presure cut-off drove it around, noticed a slight improvement. I then unhooked it, tried the teg map sensor(which IS different BTW), another noticeable improvement. tried both of them together, HOLY HELL, I can't believe this isn't included in every swap article. much stronger pull than previous. I strongly suggest giving this a shot if your running factory engine managment, even for Si's as they dont have this solenoid valve either.
tomorrow I'm heading to my buddy's dyno to see the real difference.

havn't been able to get to the dyno yet, I'm waiting on some other stuff to play with. but after driving around for the last week with this change I have noticed a great improvement than before. mid range feels much more snappy. My only problem that seemed to pop up since this change was a small loss of power right before vtec engagment(happens for like a split second then boom, vtec kicks in). but I think its something else causing this.
