Default silencer

I installed a silencer on my car today because it was just to damn load. Now my car has better throttle response, and seems like i just drive 10 times better. So my question is can a silencer really have this kind of effect. I have a custom 2.5 piping with an N1 muffler.

I'll give my two cents,

my girl has a 94 accord w/ slushbox and a Megan Racing cat-back(pieceOshit dont ever buy, ANYONE) anyhoot, hers sounded good when she got it then got too loud when the resonator broke in. So I slapped on the silencer and used honda-bond around the edges to keep the rattling down to a mininum and she said it drove SOooo much better, shifted smoother, and gas milage went up too. any bolt-on muffer company usually states to use proper piping sizes to keep back pressure available. if your pipes are too large or exaust is derestricted so much that you lose back pressure it could theroreticaly cause poor drivability.

Whats your setup, and resonators or cats?? Without any and just a muffler, your gonna sound ricey. Sounds like you just have a free flowing exhaust with no back pressure whatsoever, which would cause it to be a little sluggish, but nothing incredibly noticable. Ive run open header before and i didnt notice it that much, but it was only for a few minutes.

With out the silencer it has deep tone to it and doesn't sound like rice at all. even some of my v8 Friend think it sounds decent for a 4 banger.
