Default car died out on street, help !!

i just got finished gettin my car back after the hondata was tuned and after we changed out the oilpan gasket....i was on my way to los angeles...about 2 miles away from home, then all of a sudden my car dies out..no warning no weird noises or anything....so i push the car into a gas station and pop the hood. all connections are tight, adequate oil, everything seems normal. i try to start the car again and it wont even crank!!!!!!! i can only hear the starter tryin to engage but nothing else....WTF is goin on???????? i had to purchase a plane ticket right after and head home so i couldnt really take apart the motor or anything..please help!!!

You wont need to take apart the motor. The last thing you changed on the car was the hondata right? Problem lies somewhere with the hondata. I havent bought or studied my hondata yet so I cant give you a more technical answer...sorry. It doesnt sound like anything mechanical though...prob with the hondata....perhaps dead battery, starter solenoid, starter? Although what a coincedence that it happens right after tuning the hondata!

i would definitely go through the regular steps to check a starter proble. check the battery to make sure its good. then check voltage to the starter. if it does start when you jump start it or charge the battery check to make sure its charging. there wouldnt be any connection between the hondata and a STARTER problem. its a direct circuit from your ignition to the starter. make sure to check your alarm if you have one. the relay could cause the same symptom. start with the easy problems first. dean
