ABS kickin in all the time in one wheel
i have 92 accord ex with 4 wheel abs. For some reason this summer the front right wheel always kicks abs on when i hit breaks. it is the strangest thing, it is dry outside, but no matter what it wants to put it on. if anyone has any ideas of how to fix this, it would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

how exactly can you tell......i mean, 3 of your wheels lock up, and the other one doesnt?....the only way to really notice ABS on dry pavement is pedal pulsing....

thats what it is, like the pedal pulses on completely dry pavement. and the clicking from the ABS kicks in on the passenger side front wheel. none of the wheels lock up, but for some reason that one wants to, so the ABS turns on. i dont know what to do about it
dont brake so hard?....if the ABS light isnt on, then i really dont know what the problem is.....are your tires in good shape?...maybe theyre slipping under high braking loads....
abs problems, that ive encountered, are always involving system failre, not it working too well

A friend of mine who works for toyota service was telling me that the biggest problems with ABS modules failing is usually because of where they are located on the car. He told me, 'i know it sounds dumb'. He mentioned that if its relocated somewhere outside of the engine compartment it would work more functionally without fault.

i am not entirely positive its not cuz of warped rotor cept that these rotars were just replaced 1 year ago. and it isnt cuz im breaking too hard, the slightest touch and that wicked clicking noise and pedal goes back and forth. really upsetting
you could warp a rotor in 1 hour depending on how much they are worked... so even if they were replaced a year ago that could be a possibility.. but usualy when there warped your stearing wheel would shake too... have you checked your break pads? that one may be cracked... a while ago i felt slight slippage in my breaking so i checked the pads and they were cracked... maybe what your feeling is that pad is slipping then gripping and that gives you the pulsating feeling
I had an issue once similar to that. It happened when I was getting jumpstarted a lot (turned out to be a bad alternator) and it screwed up the ABS system. I checked the fuse and pulled the battery terminal off for 15 minutes and it worked. Check into what other peoples' suggestions are too.
You will need a four channel osciloscope to monitor all four anti lock wheel speed sensors, the bad one should have a lower amplitude signal going to the computer thus kicking in the ABS, the computer thinks it is locked up since the signal is so much lower in ampitude than the others. The frequency will be the same but the amplitude will be lower, the faster the wheel turns the higher the amplitude, it generates its own magnetic pulse, conversely, the slower it turns the lower the amplitude and the computer gets confused and kicks in the ABS, you will need a shop to check it out on a test drive with a portable scope.

An ABS sensor here is around a hundred cocos, I do not know what the are in the US plus the diagnostics.

My master cylinder was bad in my 94 LX w/ABS and was causing my front left wheel to kick in the ABS.Also was pulling to that side.Changed master cylinder and all is fine now.May be a wheel speed sensor as well though.
