[FAQ]-JDM--->USDM Seat Pan Swap guide
I purchased an Si seat from Ryan today (believed to be an 88, I own a 91) and he test fitted the seat with rails in my car. The rail on the right was not long enough to bolt in, and the rails couldnt be swapped pan to pan. So he showed me how to do a seat pan swap...
here are the tools you need:

The cell phone is so you can call ryan when you arent sure what to do
Start by removing the USDM seat.
Remove the seat bottom by unbolting the 2 bolts on the left side (under the plastic gaurd for the reclining lever) and the single bolt on the right. It may take some manuevering to get the 2 bolts on the left off, but it's do-able.
Here's the USDM pan:

Remove the metal ties that connect the fabric to the pan. Do this for the JDM seat as well. Removing the JDM bottom makes it a whole lot easier. Then peel the cloth off both pans.
heres what it looks like with the USDM pan on the JDM foam:

Not flush
Heres what to do:

Take your trusty sharpie and trace areas that the pan doesnt sink into right. Take your razor and cut into the foam.

Theres the seat sitting more flush into the pan, the cloth may not reach the orginal spots were the metal clasps were, so you can do some electrical taping to do the trick (wont win any show points with that one
)
Put your rails back on, reatached the plastic guard for the recliner, and bolt that baby in

It hugs me.
Many thanks to Ryan for being a great salesman, teacher, and CRX enthusiast!

nice write-up. i did the same thing with my EF7 seats to get them in my 91 CRX Si, except i reused the hog rings. if a hole wasn't in the vinyl to line up with the holes in the pan, i made one with a small flat-head screwdriver. worked great for me.
Umm...how does the feel of the EF-SI seat compare to the USDM 03-05 SI seats? Any idea? Like which holds you better? I was gonna go with 05 SI seats, reupholstered to match my interior, but if the EF SI holds better...I might go that way...
