Default Lessons Learned: S2K seat pan swap

Well I am finally done with my s2000 seat pan swap for my 99 Civic Si. Just thought I would post some info that I didn't see in the how to threads I used.

Passenger side was cake, I did that one first and it took me about an hour and a half.

I used zip ties instead of the hog rings to hold the material on. It worked just as well and it was easier to put back on and will be easier to take off if needed.

The driver side seat was significantly more difficult. I suppose this applies to EX's, Si's and possibly LX's, any seats where the drivers side has the seat height adjusters. It took me a little bit to get the ***** off. Turns out you just have to stick a flathead screwdriver at the base and pop off these little clips and they come right off. DO NOT try and just pull them off. The drivers side pan just didn't fit as well as the passenger side. Even now that it is done it just doesn't fit as well as I would like. If I can get a hold of a DX seat pan I will probably do this over again using that pan.

So to anyone out there with an EK, try and get a hold of a DX pan for the drivers side, it will make your life much easier.

I have leftover stuff if anyone is interested let me know.

Si front seats minus pan and rails (7.5 out of 10)
If you have a different model civic you can just swap pans and have Si seats.

S2000 rails and pans

If anyone has the bottom half of a drivers side DX seat and is willing to part with it let me know.

I hope this helps some people

Si seats are the same as other 6th gen Civic seats except for the fabric pattern and the headrests.

You should make a thread in the MarketPlace for all that stuff though.

I don't know if it's a '99-'00 option or not. I can't remember the last time I was in a '99-'00.

My understanding was at least the Si had lumbar support, but I am not sure of other trims or if it's true. I would have to look at other trims.

i have 96 civic rails on a set of del sol seats in my civic, can i just swap the pans from the del sol seats over to the s2k seats? I like the del sol, but they are awfully worn and would like to get some newer seats. the s2k seats are nice.

Yes you can swap the pans over, the s2k seats are a great upgrade.

I will post some pics when I get home today since there are so many requests... They sit at exactly the same height, that is what makes the swap so great. Although it would be a little better if I could get a hold of a seat pan with no height adjusters...
