Default This pin is driving me insane....

I've searched for hours on HT and tried everything I've seen. I still can't get the bitch pin out of the tranny. I've used a torch, lube, and wailed away with a hammer and 8mm punch. I'm in the process of looking for an 8.5mm, since apparently that's what you need. Any other suggestions at all?

i noticed that it was easier to take the tranny out with it first
then u have more room and hit stright..
took about 15mins of 3 people smacking it
then it started going out!

The tranny is already out of the car, we pulled the engine with the linkage attached.

The hard part is getting it back in there.

Put the motor back in with the linkage still attached. The last 4 swaps I've done I haven't messed with a single bitch pin and my life has been much less stressful.

Jack up your car higher with a hydrolic jack if you don't already have one. You need some swingin action to get that bitch out. Watch your fingers holding the punch though haha. Good luck

oops was vague....i meant if someone had installed it when the previously pounded side went in first it would be hard to get back out since it it was pounded and expanded it would fit tighter

I think that's what happened...

Anyway, I just repositioned the engine and dropped it back in with the linkage attached, just like last time. Thanks!

The bolts that hold your ac compressor is an exact fit. Use it as a punch. It's ghetto, but works every time.
