another happy Seafoam customer today another detailed write up inside.
I just Seafoamed my 94 LS with 140,000 miles today. Man was it ever a lot of smoke. It smoked like a chimney for a bout a mile, then it stopped. I honestly can feel better accel, my exhaust is louder and doesnt sound boggy anymore, I also, my idle is smooth, and when I start the car no hesitation.
heres another write up on it.
Start car, let the car idle until it reaches normal idle temp (temp gauge 1/4 way up)
using pliers, disconnect the clip that holds the 2 hoses(Brake booster line located on firewall to the drivers side) together, pull it apart, you car is going to go into a higher idle, high low high low.
measure out 1/3 of a pint of SEAFOAM (about 6 oz.) into a measuring cup. using a funnel pour the contents from the measuring cup into the line, SLOWLY, to much will shut the car down. watch your baby smoke.
As soon as its all in the hose, shut the car down. let your car sit off for 10-15 mins(the bottle says 5 but longer will yield better results). reconnect your hoses and turn your car on and your going to have to keep pressing the gas to keep it from shuting down.
Hit the road and slam all of your gears at least to 6K rpm, (I did redline), while you fill the road behind you looking like you just performed a burnout from hell. when you see all the smoke has come from your car, drive normally for about 10 mins, ( I did 10 miles). she gonna run like new. no problem with plugs or anything. thats it your done.
If you want to do your crankcase too, measure out 1/2 pint (8 oz). pour it into your crankcase when your car is off. drive it about 10 miles, take her home and immediately change the oil and filter. I have smoother shifts now.
Hope this helps you guys, I know theres like 5 write ups on this, but I had to add a new one.
I got ~150k and I think I'll be doing the same thing around the time of my next oil change.
I assume this stuff does for your car the equivalent of what chugging a bottle of exlax would do to your digestive system eh?
Where can I get a hold of this stuff by the way?

Sorry if i'm hijacking, but i have a 98 accord with 93k miles on it. Due to a combination of reasons i havn't changed the oil in over a year. Put about 15k miles on it since then. Would seafoaming the engine before changing the oil help it? Thanks.
anyone see the thread of the guy that thought the seafoam killed his car?
it acted possesed and wouldnt shut off when he took the key out... there was smoke coming from the intake..
kinda funny.
I'll try to find the thread.

i always wondered, will seafoam help improve gas milage by any chance? because im getting the worst milage ever. 230 average on a full tank.
i really want to seafoam my teg too but my neighbors might complain about the smoke since i live in a small court...

nice way to drive your car into the ground. heheh
yes, seafoam can help a little to clean your engine internals but it wont help any damage from running dirty oil.

i heard that the carbon deposits in older engines could be keeping the compression up in your cylinders by cloging up "holes" that could lower your compression. which will result in your car actually loosing compression and performance/hp numbers..
ima do a search for that real quick but have any of you heard about this or experianced it in any way?
