I have a 94 gsr, with a b18c1 engine inside with 162k, i also have a b18b engine sitting in my garage with 40k....I am looking to boost with a budget of about $4,000(could be more), lookin for about 300+hp, question is...should i rebuild the b18c1, or use the b18b (ls motor),and just boost it off stock internals...im lookin at a Greddy kit for about $2,000. Also if you think i should rebuild the existing gsr engine...what all should i get for the rebuild

 

I don't think you'll see 300whp with a Greddy kit and a stock motor, but it's a starting point. Read around here and in the FI forum, get a good idea of what exactly you will need to accomplish your goals, and go from there.

Personally, I would have close to $4000 in the car before even touching the motor.

 

you could always get a valve job on the gsr head and do a ls vtec on the ls bottom end(stock)....and boost from there....but it prolly would be better to strenghten the motor before boost just to be on the safe side
