Default f22b?

WHat are the real advantages of swapping a f22a4 for a f22b besides power? Also what does the accord weigh compared to the civic 2dr?

The f22ax versus the f22b1 is that the f22b1 (94-97 ex) has sohc vtec. The only advantage is that the f22b1 head has vtec and would flow a tad better due to the cam lobe. It depends on the application if you were wanting to go FI or NA on the f22, if you're going FI you are going to see a decent power increase whereas NA you won't see much difference. Honestly it isn't worth the time or the money for the 5 whp if that.

Civic 2dr what? cx, hx, ex, lx, hatch? A little more info on both the accord and the civic for a real comparison.

An accord (4th gen) weighs around 2900-3000 lbs and a civic 2dr ranges from 2300-2800 lbs. (these figures are off the top of my head and are not exact.)

by f22b, i assume your actually talking about the DOHC non vtec accord/prelude motor from long ago in JDM land....its really only worth it if you need a new engine. otherwise the power gains dont offset the cost

well what i have decided to do over the H22, which i was entirely planning on for awhile is im gonna stick with f22a1, which is unfortunately SOHC non vtec. but what i am doing is taking it all apart and boring it out as much as i can and rebuilding it with all performance pistons, new cam and stuff. that might be an option for you, it should end up giving close to h22 in power, maybe not quite as much, but it was described to me well and i like the idea. just a thought for you

f22b is a good engine to boost. It has the cast iron block (unlike the h22s) and lower comression pistons. With minor beefing up (ie, rings, sleeves and pistons) you can easily run 10psi and get good torque numbers with it. And I thinkg thats what Accors are lacking in general. lol
