Default 92 DA Integra LS topped out at 110 tonight. Why????

Me and a few friends went out and on our way back, took the highway, and my boy with an S2K said he hit 120, guess he wasnt pushing, my boy with a del sol GS-R said he hit 135. But I was stuck at 110. Does it have a governer, is it just the end of power, do I need to chip the ECU???? Help me out guys!

only jdm ecu's have speed goveners and yes its at 110mph
i have one on mt obd0 b16
but you have the stock usdm motor there no reason why it should stop at 110

What he said... USDM ECU's don't have a governor on DA's to my knowledge.

Did you have too many friends in the car? Do you have big heavy wheels on your car? Umm, maybe your car is down a cylinder or 2. Maybe it just doesnt want to go fast.

or maybe it A) has way too many uncared for miles, or B) you've advanced the ignition timing several degrees, thinking "hey, if 16 BTDC is stock, and 18 BTDC is what everybody else does, why not more?" without thinking. seen B) way too many times. why not more? because it makes you slow and kills your motor slowly.

Damn, I remember sinking the needle in my old *** 89 teg wasy back in the day. It said 130 on the gauge and that bitch did ever drop of it. I've only taken my 93 LS-T to 115 with the turbo just because the motor was completely stock and I didn't feel like pushing it all the way home but it had plenty left in her.
I drove my friend's 92 LS and bounced off rev limiter at 136 ... that poor car

Hmmmm. Well, my DA is stock, and has 198000 well taken care of miles... When I bought it a few weeks ago, the guy had all his service records, oil changes, all done by Acura, and the car starts like its new, doesnt bog at idle, and its fast for stock, and all I took out was the resonator, but my friends are giving it props(mind you they all have DOHC VTEC motors!), so thats why I pushed it like I did. So Im stuck, I guess the car doesnt want to go faster??? Maybe its the motor, but why does it pull so hard and fly to 110, but then thats it... If its lack of power and not govener, than a ecu wont do much.... I dont usually hit those speeds, but here in MA, at night on the highways, if Im with friends, we usually have fun on our ways home... So for the one critic, nobody was gonna get hurt, it was just plain highway fun!

The key word is was. Was is a everchanging term, the last thing you may be explaining is, "IT was only for fun."

Right on, a car and another at 135 equals death. And a small metal box that was your car

maybe it has the JDM ECU with a governor? take a look at it and see if it's square or just rectangular and not square.

i was telling him he should check, in case the previous owner screwed around with this car and returned it to stock with a JDM ECU in place of whatever he/she was using.

If you had a top speed limiter, you would have a very noticeable fuel cut around 115. It's practically impossible to miss. My 92 DA hit 130, but it wheezed it's way up there. Now I'm stuck at 115 with this damned JDM P30 ECU! Can we say Kenji anyone?

Get a compression check, the engine could be getting tired and just cant produce enough power to get above 110

Thats not a bad idea! I havent done that. As far as the previous owner messing with the ECU, he didnt know jack **** about the car, thats why Acura did everything for him. And could you damn retard flammers shut the **** up about speeding on the highway... That **** annoys the **** out of me. If I could have, I would have bought my car up to 140. I posted this thread to find out what the reason might be my car doesnt hit higher than that speed, if you wanted to be a state trooper, then get the **** off of my thread, you ******* dumbasses..... Thanks guys for the suggestions, and I gonna have a compression check done this week! Besides highway racing, the other new sport for us locals here in Boston is mountain racing! Damn fun, where power dosent matter, but driver skill and suspension!!!(And tires and brakes!!! )

Everyone speeds, it's still against the law whether you are doing 5 or 55 miles over the posted limit. Everyone has done it! Quit bitching about it. If you really want, catch up to the next speeder you see, and do a citizens arrest! Will that make you feel better? It was a simple question he asked!!!
