Default Raced my Uncles S2000 Today

Fortunately I found that my cars not much of a slouch as it will hold out in front of a s2000 if the s2000 driver is hitting their brakes.

My uncle has a a relatively modded S2000 and I figured we'd run a long stretch for fun, well, it was more like, Embarass the Integra owner. My friend thought it was so funny, I just hung my head in shame, it held 4 carlengths on me almost the whole time and i was at 125. Thats not to damn slow. Still tho, the S2000 is a fast little bastard. I don't even feel like remembering it...

and besides, the S2000 only has like 205whp. small mods don't make that much power extra; he won't gain 20whp from bolt-ons. and even if he did, he would still only have the same power as you, which would normally should mean fair race, but your power would be made at a lower engine speed, meaning more torque production, meaning faster car. he does have shorter gears than you, though, small plus. but you have less weight. no contest if you have 225whp. either he's got serious mods or you don't.

eh i can see how he lost....have you looked at a dyno of a s2k....look at their power curve....and its also 6 speed i believe....lots of factors nobody is looking at....not to mention he stays in his powerband longer than the da...

having a 6 speed vs a 5 speed is like pitting an ls tranny against an itr tranny...or an automatic against a 5 speed...because it amounts to the same thing he has 1 more whole gear

Yes it was street racing, but on a basis to test both of our vehicles.

first your sig said you had 225whp, now it says 205whp. so i take it you've never had it on a dyno. chances are it's n/a, and chances are you don't have big cams, ported head, and great engine management, since all that would need dyno time, so chances are you're at more like <150whp, maybe 125whp if this is a bolt-ons only car. anything that doesn't have good engine tuning probably doesn't have enough power to beat an S2000.

Ahh yeah well theres no telling, as to Im pretty new to Honda Engines. Being more of a AE86 Guy. Im used to having around 225.

The car is NA, with a bored block and about 5 other mods new camshafts, cam gears, exhaust, cai, intake manifold so your probably right buddy, thanks.

i'm not trying to run you down man, i just wanted you to realize you can have the best motor ever, but without tuning, it will make crappy power. even when you get it on a dyno, it will make different amounts of power depending on the model of the dyno. anyways, just please don't put down how much power you think you have. let the car do the talking/bragging.

How did you double your AE86's whp? I thought that an AE86 had something like 120bhp in the US, and something close to 159 in Japan. Was is NA, or FI? Tune your DA, and you could hang with him, or hold out in front no problem, until he went into that 6th gear.

It does need to be dyno tuned, a a/f ratio and all that. I just need to buy some bigger cams soon, im working on it though, it can still beat all the ricers down here. So I'm doing good.

Tennessee is the RICER state. Well we end up with a bunch of kids who buy a CAI and some loud buzzing off brand exhaust and think they can take a car, and for some reason its always mine, who has had actual engine work, especially all these damn accords down here!

Are you talking about all the 90-93 Accords? There are tons of them around here, and most of the time, covered in spots of primer, have either very large chrome wheels, small ugly wheels, hubcaps, and usually are sporting an aluminum wing. Oh yeah, don't forget the washer lights... I want to go and tune my car, it would be so nice to have it running it's best... sigh...

Same here, we should meet up and run around McMinnville giving these ricers hell, its so fun to waste Accords and the occasional pizza delivery guy who is ricing his dodge stealth.

You have any of them down there with the APC Fast and Furious vinyl?? I love just driving down the road on my way to work, or the store, and one of them will put up next to you, revving there engine(after they put it in neutral half the time), and I just look over at them shake my head no, and laugh. Every once in a while though, you have to burn them to teach them a lesson, and the sad part is, you don't have to push your car to it's max to do it. BTW a buddy of mine, kinda, just opened up a shop, and is planning on getting a dyno by the end of the year, his shop is called High Velocity Motorsports in Knoxville. You should check it out when he does, and get that thing tuned. He has a nice 6th generation DX hatch with a fully built FI B16 in it....nice.... 350whp i htink w/o spray.
