Default 6 1/2" components into '88 CRX easy question

Hey I'm new here, but not to the car audio or honda scene, I just would like a quick easy question that those who are more experienced know, answered. I have a set of Rockford Fanatic P components that I would like to put into the doors of my CRX. is it easy enough to just trim the stock mounting rings to make these fit, or should I break down and either make MDF rings (a real pain without a radial arm saw) or buy mounting rings (if they're available)? I've been putting systems into my CRX's for a couple years, but in the older 1G's (84-87) its very simple to just trim the stock rings.... Thanks for any help!

Well...shows that with some searching anyone can prove how little they know...

for any other idiotic references, crutchfield offers adapters.
