Golden Eagle Main Girdle Kit?!?!?! Worth it???
Sup guys,
my ls/vtec build is nearing its complettion. I have dumped a ton of money into this thing, dont got much more left.
I was always looking at the golden eagle main girdle kit, just wondering if anyone has one, or if anyone thinks its worth the investment??

That thread is good and all but more about sleeves.
And allot about sales pitches and company bashing.
My question more lies in is the girdle kit worth investing in? I only mentioned the GE kit, cause it looks more complete bolt on kit.
I just want to know if this type of product is usefull and worth investing in

A main girdle is designed to tie all of the main caps together to reinforce the bottom end. This prevents flexing of the main caps by utilizing the addition bolts to hold the main cap down.

If you dont plan on revving over 9k Then I wouldnt worry about it. Spend the money on having your bottom end balanced, but if you do decide to go with it make sure you have the main caps align honed.

i am building my lsvtec right now, its at the machine shop getting assembled,it should be up and running in about 2 weeks, i purchased the 3 main girdle, but i figured that would be better than nothing at all. i agree if youre not planning to run over 9k its prolly not worth it, cause you also have to get a bore/hone of your mains to insure that t heyre straight.
There are lots of people on HT with ls\vtec's that aren't using one, myself included, without any problems. I personally think it's a waste of money that could be better spent somewhere else on your motor. But if it makes you feel all warm inside, don't let me stop you.
