i went in for a smog check and the only problem i had was the system malfunction light. the smog tech told me to drive it for 80 miles then he will scan it to see if the ecu is ok for smog. can anyone help?

two years a go same thing happen. i replace a blown fuse and it pass.

could it be the smog tech messing with me so i can pay the full price , insted of the coupon price?

 

you should check the codes yourself. go to a autozone or kragen and borrow a scanner tool. then from there you'll know the problem

 

the light dosen't come on , everything is fine.
just that when it is smog, it fails the MIL (CHECK ENGINE LIGHT)

Is the bulb burned out?

 

no the bulb works. it comes on when i jump the wire. it stays on with no blinks when the wire is jumped
