Honda Guru's Need Your Help
heres my problem. ive had my 92 civic hatch for 3 yrs now. i recently put an a/c belt to see if the a/c worked, well turns out that it worked, so i retrofitted it to take the R134, no big deal. well now the a/c is cold, which is great, but now when i come to a stop the car dies. i turn the car back on and it turns on with no problem. in the beginning it would be hesitaint to go, but now it seems ok. now on my way to work, which is about 30 miles, i was coming to a stop and nothing happened, the car stayed on. should i worry about this now that it didnt turn off, this time. if i had to guess i would think it had to do with the fuel system, maybe the fuel pressure regulator, or the fuel pump isnt sufficiant enough to run the a/c. hope you guys can help. cuz its ******* hot here in Texas.also the car starts to over heat when im at a stop, it never did it in the 3 yrs i had the car until the a/c was turned on, im thinking i might just change the thermostat and see what happens. if there is a link to this same ?, give me a link. i dont have a computer at home so i dont have time to search. im at work rite now. any help would be appreciated
So the a/c compressor sat for a while without being used? If that is the case it may have started to lock up. And at a stop the engine may not be producing enough torque to turn it.
When you charged it did you oil it as well?

I would think the ECU would boost the idle high enough to keep it from dying, may have a problem with your IACV and somebody disconnected the AC to cover up the problem.
