Questions about the Type R header fitting on my B16A2...
I've got a 00 Si with the B16A2 motor, I was interested in thsi 98 spec JDM Type R header for it... http://www.inlinefour.com/jdm98spectyp.html
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Note: This header is designed for the JDM 98 Type-R, however, the primary flange will bolt up to any B-series engine; slight modification is needed at the collectors end. The 2.5in collector flange and donut gasket is also offered as an option.</TD></TR></TABLE>
First question is will it bolt right up at the head? Says it will...
Second is regarding the "flange/collector" etc, it's confusing me a bit. Will those parts allow this header to bolt up to a stock Si cat with no cutting/drilling? Or is there an aftermarket cat I would need to order to make this work? What is it referring to for "slight modification"?
Any help greatly appreciated!

i was in your shoes a couple weeks ago, i went with a CTR header with a JDM collector flange with a 2.5 testpipe.
i'm not sure if you could hook up your header to the stock Si cat?

It will definatly fit onto your B16, however be warned that it WILL hang low, since you have a B16, the B18 has a higher deck height. Anyways, you will have to cut the flange off of your stock SI cat and weld the 2.5 flange on. Then you should be all good. I put the JDM ITR header on my C5 and it fits perfect... except at the flange.. so I bought a SMSP Cat for it, but it doesnt fit all that well. The cat is great but the cat itself is too long and is pushing my exhaust back and the flange on it isnt great at all. I have to cut it shorter and weld on a 2.5 flange. Good luck.
