Problem isolated to the Main realy, most likely...any suggestions?
My friend has a 93 integra LS. his car wouldnt start sometimes but then sometimes would. when it was hot out it would start acting up(not starting), when it was cool and rainy out it would start. tonight im gonna resolder the points on the main relay and then see if that solves it. the reason y i think its the main realy is that when hte car doesnt start, i dont hear the relay click over in the main relay. i have to tap it kinda hard and then it clicks over and then runs but then sometimes dies(this is after heating it up a little with a hairdryer, just like it was when it was hot out). well when it cooled down, it didnt have any of that problem anymore. it seems like the relay inside is sticking for some reason(maybe from a broken solder point). most times when it started, it would keep running but only sometimes would die. any help would be appreciated; do u think its the relay or somethin else?
no, i called acura and they have to put one on order, i dont know of anywhere else that has them(at acura they are $62). i just came back from my friends car that parked up where i work and i put hte re-soldered part in his car and heated it up like it was in the car when it was hot outside and it would "stick". Im going to order the part(overnight it) and then see if that works. im going to look over the ignition systen schematic in my helms manual i have of his car to see if it could be anything else. any further suggestions would be helpful tho
