Default Quick questions, need your help...

i just bought my freinds 88 crx hf, im planning on to put another stock motor in for a commuter car. the motor is a d15b6 8 valve fuel injected, the thing is, i talked to a guy at attarco motors, and he said he doesnt have that same motor for me, but has a d15b from japen thats has 16 valves, and said it would bolt right on to the car in replace of my old motor. is that all direct fit bolt on, no extra mods or chaning ecus? or is he just full of ****. thanks to all that has helped!

Depending on what he means by D15B cause JUST a D15B is Vtec so you will have to wire that all in.

Now if he means some other kind of D15B* then yeah its possible....Oh and a D15B will just bolt in just like any other D-series.

Well better say this also before someone corrects me....Besides early Teg motors like the D16A1 which will not bolt right in.

there are a couple jdm d15b's, just as there are a few zc's, if i remember right. if it's the vtec one, you have to run vtec wires, no problem. i think you'll still have to change one wire for the crank angle sensor or something, i'll let someone with more hf knowlege answer this one.

You might have to do the DPFI to MPFI conversion. But, that is well worth it. And if it's a Vtec then you ad the wire to the Vtec oil pressure sensor and the spool valve. Neither are hard to do. Just make sure you get the proper ECU with the engine.
