92 accord dash
my accord needed a new dash so i bought one on ebay, but when i took my old dash out, i didnt need to take off my steering wheel, the new dash wont go om unlessi take off the steering wheel. so my question is how do you, if you can, take off a steering wheel with an airbag in it?
first off disconnect battery cable to avoid deplying air bag, make sure that you have hane ati theft radio you have the code for it cause you will loose it once battery is diconnected..
if you look at steering wheel on the side there are 2 covers, remove those, look in there there are 2 screws one on each side might be torx screws remove those there is also a connector in back side you need to plug it in to short air bag it can still deploy even if it is out air bag should now come out ..
Remove the i believe 19mm nut that holds steering wheel to column, disconnect cruise, horn, cable reel plugs . i would put wheels straight ahead and remove steering wheel , make extra extra sure not to turn wheels and to reinstall steering wheel in exact same position or you will damage the cable reel ...
