Mini me head swap

Default Mini me head swap

When doing this swap do i need the d16z6 head, intake, and exhaust gaskets or can i use the same d16a6 ones. Also could i usethe d16a6 valve cover.

Use the head gasket from the D16Z6 head along with the intake and exhaust manifold gaskets. The D16Z6 head gasket is a metal head gasket. You can't use the valve cover off the D16A6 head on the D16Z6 head. They are different. Let me know if you have any other questions.

hey is there a very noticeable gain in hp? also what fuel injectors did you use? and how difficult is the wiring?

I definitely noticed a good power gain up top when vtec kicks in. But it's not an amazing gain. I just used the stock 89 Si intake manifold and injectors. The wiring was pretty easy. The only wiring I had to do was for the Fields Vtec controller. Overall, its was a good bang for the buck. I spend about $400 on the entire swap which includes Z6 head, all gaskets and timing belt, used Fields SFC-Vtec controller($55 online), and used AFR gauge.
