?? on my break in so far
i just recently got my motor back....
gsr motor , new pistons , rings, main and rod bearings, oil pump ... 81.5mm
some head work also
i have put 65 miles on the motor so far... shifting at 4k or under so far and have not done any WOT. i did keep it in 3rd gear last night and let it hit vtec once and then shifted, then back to shifting at 4k or under.
i took out the #4 spark plug today to take a look at it. i then looked down the spark plug hole and noticed some oil on the piston. so i took out the other 3 spark plugs and looked at the pistons.. they were a little black...
any reason why the #4 piston has some oil on it?

I thought you were supposed to break the engine in at WOT so the rings can seat properly?
The oil on your piston is most likely slipping by the rings somehow.

Here's the article that talks about breaking engines in at WOT.

well, i am running a little rich.. will turn the fuel pressure down today.. getting an adj fpr
i think it is oil
the guy who did the motor said it could take 1k miles for the rings to seat, but then i read it should take like 20 minutes for the rings to seat.
the rings are chrome moly rings... something like that

yeah... i think its anywhere from 39-43 psi . i'm going to set it at 42psi tomorrow.
i have some headwork done and i'm thinking that why the fuel pressure was high at first
