Default Question about vehicle titles

Ok, I am about to buy a EM1 tomorrow. The EM1 has a so called clean title, but the car was a theft recovery, but it wasn't stripped meaning, it's not a salvaged vehicle. The car was stolen, then it was traced and nothing was taken or stripped from the car. So what would that make the title? The seller said it shows up on there and there is nothing you can do about it, but it isn't salvaged. So is it a clean title basically?

If the vin history says salvage then it's salvage. Nothing you can do. Resale value will be lower.

Check the carfax report, if it says clean then its a clean title, if it says otherwise, then well it isn't.

a stolen then recovered car wouldnt be a clean title car, its going to be salvaged due to theft. are you sure the owner said it was a clean title car? or did he said the si was clean? (clean body, interrior, etc)

It would only be salvaged if the amount stolen from the vehicle was more then the worth of the vehicle.. so if not much was stolen then it wont be salvaged.. it should say right on the pink slip. Cause when i salvaged my car i had to take lights tests.. and make it legal again.. and change my pink slip

If it was recovered with no damage, I don't see why it would be an automatic salvage. Just run a carfax.

Ran a Carfax on the car. Everything seemed cool but it says it has a Rebuilt title because of the odometer and because it isn't actual mileage. And that is basically it.

What do you guys think? He is asking 9500 for it. I am guessing from the Carfax that the mileage is probably around 65-70k. But it has a Rebuilt title but it looks like it is only because of the odometer and not having actually mileage.
