Sound deadening
I have a Crossfire db15 with a legacy 2400 watt 2 channel amp and thing rattles pretty good. I do not want to put the money into buying Dynamat or any other high priced sound deadening material. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to stop the rattling with out breaking the bank.
Placing anything, [ weather stripping] between the the plastic trim and the sheet metal chassis will help, some "expanding foam" will help, you must be careful with it, it expands a lot. there is also a roofing material we used to use in the days before the "dynamats"

I have rattling from the trunk which I used some stuff "just like dynamat" and it worked a little but fell off. I think I will probably buy more of that but I wanted to see if there are any other ways. I used some bed cushion foam inbetween the cardboard speaker cover and the sheetmetal. That does pretty good. I think my window rattles. The roof panel in the back rattles on my 94 accord and I have no clue on how to take that off. The cushion stuff helped but the deadening stuff from a local store didn't seem to do much. I might try putting a few layers on but a I wanna make sure it sticks. I wanted to see if someone heard or has any different things done in the trunk and if anyone has an idea on how to fix the window rattle.
do it right and buy some real sound deadening material. Although it may work for some, peel 'n seal and such products from home depot may not work as well. They do not stick as well and are not easily flexible. Another thing to note is their dampening abilities. It may be cheaper at first, but to get the same amount of dampening as say Raamat BXT, you'll have to use over 2 layers so in the end, it will actually cost more.
THose products are home depot are asphalt based. They are not going to dampen as well especially with the thin layer. Products such as dynamat extreme, raamat bxt, brownbread, etc are viscoelastic based. They can be molded easier and they stick much better.
But its up to your though.

Check ebay.. They have some other products. There are a few reviews of those products on HT. I checked into it before. Although most of the reviews said to double layer it all, it still ends up cheaper than dynamat.

That stuff is not that badly priced. I see $30 for 20 sq ft. That should be pleanty for my accord right?
