changing o2 sensors
ive come to the conclusion that my o2 sensors are shot and i need to change them. its an obd0 car so they are in the top part of the exhuast mani. anyone ever change those without taking the manifold off? they are in a tricky spot. just wondering if its possible before i try such a thing.
it'd probly be best for you to tak off the manifold honestly. i tried to get my old one off of my manifold for my header, but didnt come off at all. they are usually stuck on there pretty good. did you get the special socket for it? you will definitly need that if you dont have air tools
I just left the mani on and used a 22mm wrench. hit it with a rubber mallet from under the car to get it loose and kept on turing until it was loose enough for me to get the rest of it off by hand.

Exactly what i was gonna suggest (if you dont have air tools). Air tools rule, but the mallet theory is a relatively good second best. But dont force it... if it feels like its beginning to strip then just take the mani off. Seems like a common sense piece of advice, but sometimes its better to hear stuff from somebody else.

Any single wire O2 sensors will work. ie
88-91 civic/crx
88-91 integra
etc.
Even universal onewire sensors will work as long as you change the plug to match your plugs on the harness.

What are the signs of a bad o2 sensor, i think my one is shot as my car was throwing codes 1,43,44.
I changed the fuel filter and it ran perfect for about an hour, but now it misfires very badly and struggles to start.
Do you think the o2 sensor could cause this?
Thanks
Harry

Harry</TD></TR></TABLE>Well, I was getting a #1 cel everytime I got on the car hard or drove for over 30 minutes but, would go away as soon as I turned off the car. Changed the o2 sensor haven't had a problem since except I don't get 280-300 a tank anymore.

yeah there like $25
yeah there like $25
17 each or both? anyway to test o2 sensors to see if thats actually my prob? i am 99.9% sure only only 1 is shot. yea yea 17 bucks is in most peoples couch cushions, im just tired of wasting money on stupid crap when im saving for a stroker kit.
Yeah, $17 each for the universal, you can test the o2 sensor by checking the voltage, 0.6v wot and 0.4v closed throttle if below any of those number replace o2 sensor.
