cooling fan that doesnt spin!!
Hey guys,
i have a 1991 crx and i just noticed recently that the cooling fan near the radiator does not even turn on. I started up the car and made it idle and warm up for like 5 minutes but it did not turn on. Then, i did a test. I drove to my friends house about 10 minutes away and when i got their i parked and popped the hood. But it still did not turn on. I wanted to reset the idle speed for my car cause sometimes it gets jumpy and from my previous posting they told me to wait for the cooling fan to turn before i can remove the EACV. needs some feedback thanks again...

What does your temp gauge say? The fan will only kick on when it gets to a certain temperature. If you gauge readings are ok the check the wiring but if the readings seem to be inacurate the you may need to check the temp. sender.
Honda's are designed to run pretty warm so take it for a good drive and bring it home, park it and let it idle for about 5-10 mins. then if it doesn't kick in start to check wiring, temp sender, etc. Hope this helps.

Even more likely than the relay is the ever-so-common ECT sensor found by the oil filter.

I've got the same problem...
Is the relay by the passenger headlight mounted on the sidewall?
I have two other relays right by the fan but were not mounted anywhere (just left hangin) I know I replaced some of them (can't remeber which though its been so long)
blah............ I love how all of a sudden my rex started overheating, Is there a way to test the relays to make sure there toast?
thanks guys
