Momo Installation Help
I've searched and I still havent quite come up with the answer I am looking for. I have a Momo Champion steering wheel and Momo hub. Its got the horn in the center of the wheel. How the hell does it wire up? Does the clock spring where the air bag wires and all that stay or go..any help is appreciative..i really dont want to run a button someone for the horn and mount it somewhere else
the clock spring will have to be removed.
You need a thing called a shoe horn (OEM honda part)
Part No.# 35259-SH3-A02
To get an idea of what it looks like, think of a paper clip bent outwards with a female end to it.
Once you have your wheel/clock spring off look underneath your steering column... you'll notice a male connector facing down. You connect the female end of the shoe horn there. The end of the shoe horn should make contact with the momo hub. Once you have the hub installed make sure to connect the horn ring between the hub and steering wheel. Connect all the wires to the horn and voila... beep beep!

K I called Honda and they told me this shoe horn is only for up to a 91 Civic. I am guessing b/c 92 is when they began using air bags..Is that the same thing that I need is the one for hte 91? thanks

yeah it's off an older honda (crx?). Is the dealership asking you which one you want? 91? 92? Because when I ordered it I just gave them the part number and was done.

I think the hardest part for me was finding the male connector underneath the steering column... the install was a breeze after that.

Just in case..
I have a MOMO Apache Steering Wheel with the Sparco (NOS) buttons(they mount sandwiched between the steering wheel and the Hub). What I did was use the ground and that's it. Meaning my two NOS activation buttons ran parrallel grounds and power lines(put red together and black together) so I can hit either button and activate my NOS. The horn was the same deal, the red went to my accessory wire(green or brown, look at the schematic), and the ground(black) went to the ground plate provided by MOMO to sandwich between the steering wheel and the hub.
Now the power wires 1-for the horn, and 1-for the NOS, were ran thru an AC cord(2wires only), coiled like a telephone wire(it's springy for flex) that I bought at Radio Shack for $12, and all I did to get this to the Horn button was cut a hole in the Hub Cover(Black Rubber Thing that hides the Hub Adapter. Also use tie wraps to create points of stress relief so everytime you turn you aren't tugging at the connections on the horn button...
It looks like the F-1 car Steering Wheel when your all done except they run about twenty wires in a similar fashion (rich bastards). Good Luck, wish I could post a picture, it sounds hard but It's quite easy and leaves room for accessories(NOS).
I got rid of all stock accessories on the wheel, C-Control, air-bag, etc.... Have Fun

yea i got the shoe horn finally so now its just finding some free time..does anyone have any detailed pics or know where i can find some..i just dont want to mess anything up
I found the male connector and installed the shoe horn so that it's touching the momo hub, but can't figure out what to do after that. How do you wire the power and ground to the momo horn button?

A wire should come out of the hub (i believe white) and another gets plugged into the horn ring. plug the white and black wires to the horn itself. DONE!

ok i attempted doing this today but ran into a few more questions so i didnt want to mess with it until i was 100% confident..
ok, when i disarm the pass. airbag, does the entire glove box need to be removed.
also once i have it all disconnected, i do not plan on having anything SRS hooked up. The one thing tho i realized is that one of the SRS Fuses is also the fuel pump fuse..being that the SRS unit is inactive, that fuse wouldnt matter to the SRS at all right? it would just be used for the fuel pump?
