Default Ignitor compatibility

i have a b16 and i think the ignitor is the cause of my grief. tach jumping ect. i had a post on it the other day.

neways i was wondering what ignitor will work with my dizzy? the reason i ask is cause i think i have an old d16 dizzy with a good ignitor from my old CRX and wanted to know if that will work.
thanks

OBD1 and OBD2 Dizzy internals are interchangeable, doesnt matter if its VTEC or not either.

But for OBD0 i am not sure because i have never done it before. Open up both dizzy's and see if the part numbers match, if they do let us know and youll be ok to use them.

obd 0 internal are different, they look the same but are diferent modules with different part numbers, if you put the obd 1 or 2 in the obd 0 it will burn up

You basically have to gut the dist. to find it. Take out the cap, then the coil, then next is the ignitor. Remember which wires go where though.

update on this, i took my dizzy apart and know how to get the ignitor out and everything and i have the one out of my old CRX Si dizzy.

now my question is will the CRX dizzy work in my dizzy?

the one out of my CRX is brown and the 1 in my b16 dizzy is black. there are the same # of connectors both and its about the same size. there were no part #'s on the ignitor in my b16 dizzy, but there were part # on the CRX but nothing like the td44u or td68u.
please help my cause ive broken down like 3 times about 1 block from my house and its a PITA to get a tow that far and have to take my bumper off eveytime. not im not driving and the weather is getting NICE!!

the entire distributor will not change over but the internals will
F, H, B, D series all use the same internal components (OBD1+ of course)

use the CRX igniter in your B16 dist.

ok thanks lol, its all good...even the drugs

will i hurt anything by trying the OBD0 ignitor in my dizzy do u think? i might try it anyways just to see if it will work cause they look the same, just dont want to blow up my dizzy.

if this doesnt work, any 1 thats OBD 1/OBD2 will work tho? even out of a shitbox d15 dizzy?

UPDATE!

ok i was tired of not driving my car and decided to try my ODB0 ignitor from my CRX that i had here. put it in and in 30 mins i was driving my car and it was working FINE. took it for a 30 km trip and hit 8000 rpm with no missing or tach bounding anymore.
the dizzy i had in my car when i got the swap was from dizzyking and from what i read their ignitors are crap and i guess that info is correct.

in short, OBD-whatever, all honda ignitors are the same and will work, as long as it has the same amount of connectors.

now hopefully it wont burn out, then i will be forced to buy a new 1. at least i know what the problem is

have a good day
