short shifter help

Default short shifter help

i just installed a ractive short shifter..and it came with 2 extra bushings or o-rings..so i put them in rite..now my shifter is super stiff ....wat do i do to make it smooth...it even makes a squeeky sound wen i shift gears ....should i take those extra bushings out ? please help

That's probably the way its supposed to feel. Stiff. It might loosen up as you drive the car more and the bushings get worn out some.

The bolt that goes through the shift rod and and shifter is probably too tight, back it off a 1/4 turn and see if it lossens up a bit.

there you go, lossen the bolt and it should be alot looser

what car is it for? my friend has an OEM Type R in his car and its WAY smoother than my shortty! my 2 cents.

please tell me you greased the ball on the shifter

-if you did, then yeah loosen it up a bit like others have said. My shifter is alot firmer tham oem, but its smoother.

Yeah i SUPER greased it, it's smooth but not as smooth as my friends OEM shifter! He's another of these OEM and JDM crazed ****'s!

Does yours use a ball bearing pivot at the bottom? If not, this may be the reason why the ITR shifter is smoother.
