93 Cx Hatch - Strange excellerations.
93 Cx hatch, everything is stock except for a cheap intake.
It seems that when I put a certain amount pressure on the gas and hold it, the motor will rev (to match foot pressure), unwind, rev, unwind, etc, etc.
This only happens with certain pedal pressure. IE if I push about 1-6 mm's pressure, it will rev normally. From 7-10 mm's pressure, the engine will rev/wind down. And from 11mm + the motor will act normally.
This will happen regardless of weather or not I have the clutch depressed or not and it will happen if I am in gear or in nuetral.
The funny part is, I drive this car 20 min to school and 20 min home every day, and on the way to school this 90% of the time never happens. On the way home it 99% will happen.
Oh and no CEL either.
Advice on what to check?

I didnt, It came on the car. I highly doubt it has any effect on the problem at hand.

your hitting your rev limiter. it happens in my cx hatch too, even though you still have two inches of pedal left. tacks out at 5700 rpm. if you push the pedal all the way down the rev limiter just speeds up.
no sir. because if you continue to push the pedal, the problem will go away and the engine will rev like normal. Trust me, we had it on rev limiter a few times when we were testing it.
After looking at it with a mechanic, we have concluded it is getting fuel cut off for sure - but there is plenty of throttle left to push.
But what would cause the fuel cut spurts always from X-Y rpm ranges? I am thinking TPS, ECU or some relays perhaps?

spark plug wires...happened to me yesterday, one of them wasnt giving good power so revs would bog down at certain rpms...i got msd wires and alls good now
but u said it was a fuel proble, so check ur main fuel relay, fuel pump, and that thing that controls how much fuel goes back....regulator!....but bad spark plugs could also cause the problem because they ignite the fuel
