there are a couple of factors:
1. you have a cx motor.
2. there's no need to revv that high, especially on a cx motor
3. you have a cx motor.
4. when's the last time you did a tune up?
5. you have a cx motor.
oh, by the way if i forgot to tell you YOU HAVE A CX MOTOR!

if the motor is cutting off at 4.5K, then most likely it's the rev-limiter cutting it off. has nothing to do with the motor.

Re: help plz (philosofy1)
More info is needed for us to help you, such as:
Is the check engine light on?
If so, what codes is it throwing? (search to find out how to do this)
Has this condition been developing, or did it happen all of a sudden?
Typically, when an engine stops revving at around 4500 rpms and sounds like it's hitting the rev limiter, it means that the ECU is keeping the engine in "limp" mode. This means the rev limiter is lower and it runs more conservatively because the computer thinks something is effed up.
