Default valves

I just finished porting and polishing my cylinder head and would i be right in assuming that nothing can be done to the valves unless i take them to a shop?

no kit just use a dremel and smooth out and slightly enlarge the ports

wow.. did you research before you did it or did you just go gung ho on it?

I read about it because i wanted to do it and i decided it was a good idea not to do it.. to gain any power you have to use a flowbench to test it to even gain power. If you change the shape of the chamber or make it too smooth or too big you could harm your performace rather than gain any.

unless i was just going to boost it i wouldnt even touch it..

the chambers are well shaped from the factory.. ive read that its bad to smooth them too much because the rough surface is there to cause turbulance to mix the fuel/air. The shape is also important because it maximizes the flow of the air.. if you are going to do it yourself its best just to take the imperfections out and just port match the intake/exaust manifolds.
