Default B16a vs. B18c

How much more work would a B18c (w/ LSD) be as apposed to a B16a (w/ LSD) for a 89 CRX DX? Is it worth it for the extra 20HP? /

Can't go wrong with either of them, a b18c would be nice; you'll most likely find a b16a for cheaper though. I have a non-lsd b16a in my sedan and it pulls hard. Good luck on the swap.

13.5 on street tires stock b18c1 with quaife lsd in usdm gsr swap. How many people can say they ran that with a stock engine with bolt ons? Im sure there are a few b16s but not many.

If your going to run a B18C in your crx you need a number of things to do this swap. 1st, decide if your going to locate another tranny in the cable version, if not, you need a Hasport cable to hydro conversion. You'll need a mount kit, a obd0 to obd1 wiring harness conversion, you'll need to do something with your hood so the B18 engine will clear the hood.
These are the preliminary steps.

I didnt believe it when my friends told me about. All they said was there was a 95 GSR for sale for $1500. At first I though its probably all wrecked and the motors blown or something. Me and my friend went to go check it out in Pecos, TX. We couldnt find it then I saw a red car sitting there. And I was like is that it? Got closer holy **** its a GSR!!! Only thing wrong with it is faded out paint. They thought the tranny was gone but its just the clutch!!!!!!!!! Offered them $1000 and they took it.

Here's another way of looking at things. Yes, the GSR costs more. But how much is it going to cost you to get an extra 20HP from a B16A? Quite a bit. Probably more than the price difference between the B16A and B18C1. Furthermore, you are not going to get that extra torque at ANY price. At least not allmotor.
