EF sedan rear disc conversion
Sorry, its another parts list question... I have a '91 sedan and am planning on doing a rear disc conversion. I already have da trailing arms, brake lines, ebrake cables... I heard for this setup that i also need the DA a-arms and a couple bolts...? Any help would be appreciated.
***BtW, this car is also for sale. Its got a jdm b16a and nx express nitrous kit (not installed). Located near Federal Way, WA***

Are you sure? I know a guy who has a '90 and used the same setup i have and he needed a couple extra parts from an integra... or can i really use what's already on there? Well, i have the rear discs and i've already spent like 450 on the brake setup, stainless lines, powerslot rotors, and hawk pads. Figured if i don't sell it, i'll have 4-wdb's.
Yeah I swapped my '91 a while ago. As long as you have all the original bolts you're golden. All the teg parts just bolt right up. You should get the proportioning valve as well.

Why an EX?
EX didn't have rear disc.... they had drum setup just like all the other sedans.
The difference was the larger front brakes.

Acutally, the 88-91 EX's did have rear disc brakes. They also had the d16 MPFI, larger front brakes better exhaust, and a few other luxury items.
What side skirts are you using on your sedan? They're not stock on your car are they?

You're right. Looks like nobody's in the mood to argue though.

Where is your proof?

Well, I don't have any proof. But I could be wrong, I could just about sware that I've read somewhere that was one of the major differences with the EX. I'll dig around and see if I can find anything out.
Alright, I still don't have perfect proof other than the fact that I talked to a friend who has a 90 EX, and it has rear disc brakes, stock. He said that the 90-91 EX's had 4 wheel disc brakes with sway bars, but only for those two years.
That's probably why ex voto said to use an EX proportioning valve.

Nah, they didn't. My '91 EX has drums on he rear. But the proportioning valves are the same as the DA valves on the 90 and 91 EXs. I have a DA valve that I thought I was going to need and never did.
Oh well.
Oh well.
Here is the downlow I have done a lot of rear disc brake conversions onto the 88-91 EF models... So that everything jives up you need what is below.
90-01 rear trailing arm with just the front adjuster bar on it and or the upper control arm. Make sure you know about where the adjustment is on the front bar because you will need to put the Integra one in the same spot. You can use either the integra upper control arm or the ef. I have done it both ways its the same size. If you car is lowered or going to be lowered put a washer between the upper control arm and the car. For 1" use 1 washer for 2" use 2 washers for each bolt. It will align things up. You need to use the ef lower control arm. Every setup I have done, I have used Integra e brake cables and modified them (shortening them) and adding custom screw in barrells. If you have the money or you get lucky from a junkyard you will need the 90-91 crx SI ebrake cables, obviously it had to of come with rear discs from the factory. Or go to Honda and pay $70 for each side. Then you will need to upgrade your brake booster to an 90-01 Integra. I have used 90-93. Then you will need to upgrade your Master Cylinder to a Integra one I have used 90-93 15/16 I do believe GSR is no different in a few of the years if not all. Also I was told that the Type R usdm MC has all the plumbing on the opposite side. Then you will need a 40/40 perportioning valve from a 90-01 Integra. I also recommend bleeding the brakes 2 times.

1 thing that is incorrect.
the front control arm (known as the compensator arm) should NOT be remove from the body of the car! remove it from the trailing arm and leave it attached and trq'd to the body. that is an alignment point (toe in / out)!!
