Default Leaking crazy amount of tranny oil

So yeah recently my 5th gear has been slipping out of gear when driving .... so after doing some searching around i found the problem, it was low on oil. So i put more oil in and fixed that problem, but now i have a new problem. I located where the leak was coming from, apparently there is a crack where that big drain bolt is on the side of the tranny. Not the one where you drain the tranny, the bolt that takes the biggest socket wrench to take out. It is cracked around that, it is like someone tightened the bolt to much and caused it to crack.

Well i need to temporarily fix it so i can get it back home to the dealer to fix it, since it is under warranty. Do you guys think if i went to an auto parts store or home depot and bought some liquid weld to fill the gap, that this would temporarily fix it so i can get it to the dealer. The closest acura dealer to me is 3 hours away.

This sucks guys

Did that exact thing for a customer with a crack in the same place-they could not afford to replace the case

If honda bond will hold i would use that. Just incase they want to examine the cracks to see if it is a defect.

JB weld is more of a semi-perminant fix. and i could imagine the dealer saying that it voids the warrenty because you tried to fix it.

I think it even says on the packaging "Transmission housings" and "engine blocks"

Yeah, you could JB Weld it. Buy it at Napa or hardware stores. You could probably take it to Joe's Transmission Shop (tm) and have them really weld it.
