Default suspension prob..bad spring? bad shock? out of alignment?? pics.

i know next to nothing about suspension components and their working..so maybe some of ya'll can help me out

the first pic is just of my car so ya knwo what your lookin at.

the second is just of the wheel which is where my problem and question lies. its tilted..the other wheel is not. what is this from? the spring go bad or is the shock no good or does it need alignment or what? H&R springs BTW.

i wanna get adj. coilovers so is this a good time to do so?

also, on the side thats tilted, when i hit a bump or dip in the road (dirt roads) it will "clunk"..sounds like something is hitting something else when the suspension travels..does it on both sides of the rear but the vast majority is on the passenger side. is it the spring bottoming out?

you probably cant tell me exactly whats wrong, but you can sure help diagnose and narrow down the issue.or maybe you can.. i dunno. thus why im posting cause i have no clue
thanks in advance

It looks like you have a bad camber problem, you can buy camber kits for our car for cheap so try doing that.

This is a guess, considering that I have no pictures of the suspension itself, I will give it my best shot.
It would appear that your condition is caused by a problem with the the rear upper control arm on the right side; either inner pivot bushings, the ball joint or someone bent the control arm when they affixed a towing hook.
A spring COULD cause this condition, but you do not mention any tilt of the body.

if your riding on stock shocks, and that shock is blown .. then its gonna sit lower & give it more camber ..

yes, it does sit lower..around 1/2 lower normal..and if i have pple in it..just 2 in the back, you can tell a huge diff..the tire in in the fenderwell as opposed to the driver side where its only just a lil bit lower..

so yes, it sits lower AND it is slightly tilted.

thanks for the imput !

Broken spring, but I would still inspect the upper control arm (as I mentioned before.
Shock (Absorbers) have nothing to do with supporting the weight of the car or determining the ride height. All they do is dampen shocks to the suspension.

You will notice major camber shifts in most cars with independent suspensions (check out your dads' old Triumph Spitfire or TR6) when excessive loads overload the rear. The tires tilt in excessively on the top.

Raising the car using a jack at the right rear rocker lift point to the correct ride height should prove this out. If the tire/rim returns to it's correct 0d camber position, then the springs the culprit. If not, then somethings either worn bent or broken
