So i was researching intakes, and it seems that the most common thing to do is pick up an ebay/autozone cheap intake, and get K&N filters. one thing i couldn't find is where people generally are buying the K&N filters from. so where is a good place to pick up these K&N filters, and how much is it gunna run me?

I've tried all of these places as-well... they dont have the conical ones in my area (omaha, NE). All I can find is APC and such.
I've just been using an old one I found in my garage. Any insight boys and gals?

You can order them in just about any shape and size you want.

if you cant find them at your local race shop or something, just get them off ebay or order them from k&n directly. shouldn't cost more thatn 45 at the most.

EW..
I think I threw up in my mouth a little after hearing that...

K&N makes a great filter, so does Apexi if you have the money. Personally? I stuck with the AEM replacement filter.

heres a dumb question. i need to buy an intake made for the car that my motor came from, correct? and also, would it be cheaper to buy a generic intake from autozone/pep boys, or ebay?
edit: and also, im noticing on ebay that there are intakes specifically listed as Non-Vtec intakes. i wasnt aware there were vtec and non vtec intakes. is there a difference?
