Default Ideal CR to run with skunk2 pro 1's?

Hey, im looking for info from you guys that have had experience tunning with the skunk2 pro 1's. What is your opinion on the CR that these cams like the most?

Im planning a lsvtec build with p30 pistons, and am just wondering if i will need more than the 11.6:1 CR that it will yeild to bring out the full potential of the cams? My boy says that that is plenty enough to run those cams, and he's probaly right. But im super **** and want to hear everyone elses opinions who have had experience with these cams.

anyone out there running these cams?? and whats your opinions on them?

setups/dynos/ and track times would be awesome as well!

why?
explain why u think these cams need excessive amounts of compression to make power..

it is a b18c bottom with a b16 head milled down a little.

If your gonna bump your compression......whats the point of bumping it up a little above stock. MIght as well leave the bottom end alone if thats the case.

In most situations cam decision should really come down the engines flow characteristics as opposed to just compression alone. Even so, there are plenty of engines running close to stock compression and huge cams that are making great power.

Nitrous craves high compression, FYI

i agree..but...with a stout bottom end, your gonna make that much more torque and that much more power over a stock block.

so u think that 13:1 comp is too much for these cams? wheres your basis for arguing that 10:1 compression is too little? i ahve seen skunk2 stage3s make power on stock b16 blocks. just because the cams are big does not mean they wont make power.

screw this ill post my dyno sheets up in 2 wks, then we can figure out if 10:1 wont make any power

I'd have to agree with johnzm on this, just because the cams are big, doesnt mean you need an assload of compression to make power with them.

I.E., omnimans b20 with 10.7:1, DonF 11.5:1 gsr test motor etc.etc.etc.

A discussion like this is on the RM boards.

wtf are you talking about, i never said 10:1 was too little.

And i stated my opinion that higher compression would give optimal gains over 10:1 compression.....which is not straying from the original question...thanks tho

LOL!

no offense, but the "tuners" dont waste their time on honda tech, until after they are done with work

i would imagine they would have the same opinon i have, since i spoke to DonF before purchasing my set.

Your compression should work great with those cams.

Compression is fine , just make sure you get Skunk, OMNI, REV, or Rocket gen 2 springs and retainers.
