Default Recaro SRD in 96 Accord

I might be purchasing a recaro srd for my accord and I was wondering how much modification I would need to do to the seat rail to have it fit. OR if I could buy a recaro seatrail from their site for my accord would that rail bolt up to the srd?
Any help would be appreciated.

Best bet is to fab the old/stock seat rail to the bottom of your new seats

Are you sure? If it was me I would get the WEDGE brackets that recarro recommends?

I believe they make brackets for you to do this but it shouldn't be too hard to do it yourself if you really want to. A drill, some screws, and maybe a hacksaw could work wonders.

but is it as safe? I'd trust the recaro rails if it were me...they seem to know what they are doing...

If bolted on to the seat with the OEM bolts I also fully trust the OEM rail. I'm sure Honda is no slouch on making sure seats stay planted.

I do not disagree that the Recaro rails are a good idea and are probably easier. But you can definitely do a good job with the OEM rails if you're on a budget. It's the money question. If you've got it to spend do it, if not use the OEM rails.

How many of y'all who are suggesting he fab it himself actually have done this yourself?? Its not that easy

I have two Recaro SRDs in my 97 and I was looking at making it fit myself. More frustration then its worth. I just bought the Sparco (same rail as Recaro) bracket and its a smooth bolt on from there. Plus I don't worry about my seat breaking loose if an accident occurs

yep, i wouldn't be a problem if you get every bolt line up in a the same angle and have it bolted down but it wouldn't, what's dangerious it not the fact that you are using a oem rail but ghetto ragging it.

almost all aftermarket seat will be lower than stock, most of the guys would just rack up 20 piece of zinc washer and call it a day, which is not exactly fun if you got into an accident. what's the point spending couple hundred buck on the seat and make it dangerious to use? just some idea.

cliffnote: buy it, but if you can't afford it, fab it nice

I called Recaro North America and they said that one of their CD rails would bolt right up to an SRD!
