Default weird A/C problem

Have a 94 Accord EX w 140k miles on it. The air has not worked since I purchased the car. Recently with the aid of a very good friend, we tried to fix this however to no avail. Basically we got one of those R134 repair and refill kits. Added that and then tested the pressure, was great right within spec. Anyway if you touch the A/C lines they are cold as hell, but somehow nothing is getting to the cabin. Any suggestions. It is hot as hell here with crazy humidity and it blows showing up to work all sweaty!

Thanks.

We are going to need more info on exactly which line is getting cold, is the line turning white with frost on it? This is a sign of a clogged line. You mentioned a repair kit, does it include a sealant to prevent freon from leaking out of the system. In the future you should tell a repair shop that you used a sealer so you dont damage their equipment (recycle machine).

The compressor squezzes the freon into a hot or very warm mix with the built in oil, it then runs back and forth through the condensor being cooled by the fans then it is ran back to the firewall to the evaperator where it does its job of cooling. You may have a receiver/drier after the condensor with or without a little glass window.

More info please.

it could also be the temp comtrol switch. Meaning that the *** that turns it from hot and cold could not be working right. just a thought

Okay how would i tell if the *** is to blame or not?

Where is the heater adjustment cable?

I have a helms manual so if you give me a pg number I can look it up, also how would I know if this is bad?

Thanks.

most likely your problem is like the other person said ... the heat/cool switch that **** always breaks on the accords and sometimes it looks like it is on the cold side but it is really not so the cold air wont blow in the car ... pull the **** off and look to see if it is cracked .... if it isnt then you need to take it to a mechanic because your expantion valve is probally plugged up

your expansion valve is probably fucked up same thing happened to my old accord around the same mileage. with replacing it, labor, and a new reciever drier, and a recharge it was $300. i was talking to the guy who has been a honda mechanic for 14 years said its always a good idea to replace the reciever dryer at the same time you do the expansion valve

yo brads if exp valve was no good you would not have good pressures thus the lines would not be cold as hell when you touch them, most likely the suction hose would be warm

Okay pretty sure this was it. I got out my helms manual, and thanks to a good friend he was able to tell me where this was. It is in section 10-3 for anyone else having a problem with their A/C and wanting to try this. Anyway found the Heater Valve, on top of the valve is the adjustment (I believe) it has an illustration of an arrow and the words shut. So I obliged and now nothing but cool Air coming from my A/C!! Does this mean I will have to open this in the winter then to get back my heat?

Thanks again, and mas cervasa for all you great folks who helped out!!
